Letters to the Editor

The MHEDA Journal regularly receives comments from our readers. In this Letters to the Editor section, we publish letters and e-mails sent to us during the past quarter. We invite you to send your comments. Letters must be received with a name and contact information. Send future comments to Chris Powers at editor@TheMhedaJournal.org.

Health Care Clarification

In our article titled “The Patient Protection And Affordable Health Care Act” published in the July 2010 issue, we stated, in reference to government tax credits, “The tax credits do not become effective until 2014 and are available for individuals and families making between 100 percent and 400 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. The current federal poverty level for an individual is $22,050 and $88,200 for a family of four.” What the Center meant to say is, “The current federal poverty level for a family of four is $22,050, thus resulting in $88,200 as the top qualifying income for a family of four.” We regret the error.

New Website Feedback

Upon my return from summer vacation on July 26, I was dutifully blazing through my e-mail inbox when I came across the announcement in the July 15 issue of The MHEDA Connection announcing a new website for MHEDA’s online journal. Well, since I certainly enjoyed the old online journal, my curiosity was piqued, and, rather than continuing the inbox plow-through, I took a look. Very nifty indeed! The site is eye-catching, the content is germane to the audience, and the contributions are the perfect length to hold this reader’s attention! The new website looks to be off to a fabulous start. We look forward to being a part of its continued success!
