Decatur, GA — Lift Atlanta (Decatur, GA) and Peach State Integrated Technologies (Norcross, GA) donated to the Feed the Hunger Pack-a-Thon in Roswell, GA, over the June 18th weekend. 692 volunteers at the event packaged more than 107,000 meals for children in Haiti, enough to provide 1,000 kids with at least one nutritious meal per day for over three months.
Jim Bowes, president of Peach State, was involved with the charity through his church, which hosted the event. He asked Lift Atlanta President Mark Milovich to donate a forklift to help load and unload trailers for the charity. Lift Atlanta provided Feed the Hunger with a new Hyundai forklift to use for the event. “I wanted to not only help the charity, but also help a fellow MHEDA member,” says Milovich. Feed the Hunger Pack-a-Thons will take place in other cities through October 15 and has established a goal of providing one million meals by June 2012.
