I’ve written a couple of times in this blog about Alan Beaulieu and his eerily precise economic forecasts and predictions. Since I started working with The MHEDA Journal, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing Alan three times and each time I’ve come away blown away by how prescient his insights are. In the Second Quarter issue of the magazine (online and in mailboxes now), Alan gave a preview of his MHEDA Convention presentation “Get Aggressive and Start Thinking Big.” The overarching message of the column is that the economy will see a slight dip in the latter half of this year before a period of growth in 2015 and 2016. He goes on to give tips for MHEDA members to insulate themselves from this dip and capitalize on the upswing. It really is a must read for anybody interested in making money.
However, as insightful as the column is, it’s no substitute for seeing Beaulieu speak live. In the magazine, he is constrained to 1,500 words whereas his presentation is an hour and 15 minutes long. And if you’ve never seen him before, the stereotype about the dry, boring economist doesn’t apply here. He’s a very funny and engaging speaker who is able to connect with the audience without beating them over the head with numbers and charts.
Alan will be speaking at the MHEDA Convention on May 5 from 1:15 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. ET. His presentation itself is worth the price of admission, to say nothing of the other 16 speakers and countless networking opportunities. However, we understand that not everybody can make it to Orlando for Convention. That is why, with the sponsorship of East Penn, manufacturer of Deka Batteries & Accessories, MHEDA is making Alan’s presentation free of charge to any MHEDA member that would like to stream it.
